— NLWITTY, Twitch Streamer
My client, NLWITTY, needed various custom elements built for his Twitch stream that would allow his current and potential followers and subscribers to instantly recognize his stream and brand.
In talking with NLWITTY, I was able to determine what type of look and feel he was going for. Based on this information, I created a logo and custom components for the stream that complemented the branding I designed.
These components included:
- Logos: circular and non-circular for different use cases
- NLWITTY character
- Stream Starting screen video with animations and music
- Be Right Back screen video with animations
- Screen scenes that worked with my client's Open Broadcaster Software (OBS)
- Chat emote graphics
- Subscriber badge graphics
- Twitch panels
- Merchandise graphics
- Animated alerts for followers, donations, etc.
- Animated social rotators
- Stinger transition
Final Designs
Logos
For the styling of the logos, since NLWITTY is a gamer, and the stream is themed as “Witty’s Game Lounge”, I mimicked an old-school gaming controller in the negative space between the “L” and the square surrounding the NL.
I created two variations of the NLWITTY logo. One was contained within a circle with the brand colors used for the orange border and gray background. This was used within the overlays for the Twitch stream, as well as on some of the merchandise available for purchase.
The variant without the circle was used for different pieces of merchandise available for purchase through the NLWITTY merch store.
NLWITTY Character
I created the NLWITTY character to embody the streamer himself. There are multiple facial expressions, which face different directions for various use cases. I also built multiple hand gestures such as a wave and a thumbs-up.
The NLWITTY character is used within the Stream Starting and Be Right Back screen videos, as well as on the Currently Offline screen scene. I also utilized the character in many of the chat emotes for the Twitch stream.
Screen Videos
Stream Starting
The Stream Starting screen video is to be used within OBS at the start of every stream. It gives followers and subscribers time to join the stream prior to the streamer beginning to chat and play games. I designed and created this screen video using Illustrator, Animate, and After Effects.

Be Right Back
If NLWITTY needed to take a break at any point during the active stream time, the Be Right Back screen video could be utilized. This video is 2 minutes and 5 seconds in total and is meant to be run on a loop.
It features an animated NLWITTY character waving and giving a thumbs up at minutes 1:00 and 2:00 in video for added visual interest. I designed and created this screen video using Illustrator and Animate.
Screen Scenes
Currently Offline
Game Lounge
Just Chatting
When a game was not being played on stream, the Just Chatting scene could be used to chat with visitors, followers, and subscribers. The board on the right side of the scene is used to show the stream chat. There is also a bar at the bottom of the screen to show the most recent subscriber, who gave the top cheers, the most recent cheers, and the most recent donation.
Giveaway
Game-Play
The Game-Play scene is used anytime NLWITTY was actively playing a game on stream. The top bar features the NLWITTY logo, along with showing who gave the top donation, most recent donation, top cheers, and most recent cheers.
There are also bars on the left that would display below the video of NLWITTY himself that features a weekly cheers goal, recent subscribers and followers, and a countdown bar. On the bottom right, a sub count and sub goal counter are displayed.
The social rotator and merch alert placements are being shown as examples on the screen above.
Graphics
Chat Emotes
Chat Emotes are available to be used within the stream chat by followers of NLWITTY’s stream. They were created using common phrases said by NLWITTY during his stream such as “Oh Myyyy Gosh”, common chat emotes people enjoy using such as “Hype!”, as well as by using the NLWITTY character to bring more personality to the emotes.
Subscriber Badges
Subscriber badges appear next to a person’s username in the Twitch chat if they are subscribed to NLWITTY’s stream. A video game machine was used for the stream to go along with the “Game Lounge” theme.
The badge will change based on how long that person has been subscribed to the stream. They will start with most basic color of the video game machine and work their way up to the multi-colored version.
Merch Store
The Merch Store poster is used in the background of some of the screen scenes. It serves as a reminder to visitors of the stream that NLWITTY has merchandise available for purchase, and as a nice visual element to the screen scenes themselves.
The banner is used at the top of the merch store page itself. Visit NLWITTY’S Merch Store to view the banner, and take a look at how the logo is utilized on the merchandise.
Twitch Panels
Simple Alerts

The simple alert animations are used when someone follows or hosts NLWITTY’s Twitch stream. They do not have sound so as not to interrupt the stream with additional noise.
The username of the person that followed or hosted the stream would appear within the alert container, along with a thank you message.
Audio Spectrum Alerts
The audio spectrum alert animations are used when someone gives cheers, donations, purchases merchandise, or subscribes to NLWITTY’s Twitch stream. Each one uses a different song clip with an audio spectrum animation, similar to what is shown in the Stream Starting screen video.
They are meant to stand out and draw attention so NLWITTY can give personal thanks to the person when he hears the alert. The username of the person that gave cheers, donations, purchased merchandise, or subscribed would appear within the alert container.

Social Rotators

The social rotators are animated bars that overlay NLWITTY’s Twitch stream. They contain information such as the name of the Discord channel for NLWITTY’s Game Lounge, Epic games creator code, merch link, etc. They appear on the screen for about 6 seconds at a time and “rotate” through each one.
The same color scheme and bar style used for other components for the stream are used for the social rotators to maintain a consistent look and feel.
Stinger Transition
When screen scenes need to be changed, the stinger transition appears between scene changes to add a fun sound and visual interest.
As an example, NLWITTY may start on the Game Lounge scene when the stream first begins, and then need to transition to the Game-Play scene. Instead of the stream automatically changing from one screen view to another, which can be jarring, the stinger transition allows for a smooth change between scenes.
